In today's uncertain economic environment people wonder if the internet can be a source of income. There is lots of business being done on the internet. So there is no doubt there is room for you also. But you might ask, what is the time frame for success going to be?

Are you new to internet marketing? Do you look for answers as to what to do and not do? You have come to the right place. Below are a few short topics along with some comments regarding marketing. If you don't completely understand something look it up. It is good to read about topics from different points of view. Read through the following ideas as you build your marketing knowledge.

You will be confronted with many internet marketing choices as this is a growth area. Consider finding a good marketing strategy and using it. We have offered a few ideas and hints for today's marketers.

1). Learn to optimize your articles and writings. The process is called SEO. It is optimizing for search engines. You must keep in mind that a search engine is a computer. It reads what you write and does not guess what you mean. Keywords help it enormously to understand what your page is about. You can easily confuse a search engine by writing about many things. When you do this, the search engine cannot distinguish what the page is about. Keywords should be used frequently. Put them in the URL, Title, and in paragraphs and links. When the search engine reads the page, these keywords will be found. This is how traffic gets to your site, by first letting the search engine know what your site is about.

2). If you start selling as an affiliate there are two things to know. If a company gives you an affiliate website that is like everyone else's don't try to rank that. Instead get a new domain that you own and host it. Then try to make sure you get your keyword or idea of your site reflected in the domain name you choose.

As an affiliate marketer, here is a big no no. Do not ever buy ads on PPC or Pay Per Click places, like search engines, then link to the main companies site. Instead make the link go to your site, and explain to customers why they want to buy. Search engines may ban you for just getting traffic from them, and sending it straight to the main company. They can do that, so they don't need you and can eliminate you. Learning this valuable lesson can save you you time and effort.
