Its funny how different people have wildly diverging views about MLM and Network Marketing. Successful entrepreneurs who use these techniques promote them passionately while less successful practitioners deem the techniques a total failure. Well known practitioners such as Robert Kyosaki and Robert Allen who incorporate these techniques advocate and promote them. While in some other circles, you just might not want to inform people that you're involved in MLM or Network Marketing.

So why is there so much diversity of opinion regarding MLM network marketing?

Is the compensation plan to fault? It seems that those at the top earn more income that the folks at the bottom. Conventional businesses operate in the same fashion. The salesman at the bottom makes a commission on his sales. However, his sales manager makes money on each salesman's performance and the VP of sales makes even more. This compensation scheme has been around forever.

How about the cost to get started? You certainly don't expect to start a business without some investment of capital and effort do you? Whether you're starting a traditional brick and mortar business or a MLM network marketing business you must invest in the effort. Since every opportunity has a cost associated with it you have to evaluate your position and ability to invest. MLM network marketing generally takes less capital to get started so that's could be a significant benefit.

Over the years there have been many "Ponzi" or pyramid schemes where there are no real products or services provided. Money from new members is used to pay off more mature members and no goods or services are exchanged for the money. Bernie Madoff is probably the best known artist in this field. He swindled thousands of people out of billions of dollars over many years before his world collapsed. Unfortunately these schemes have tarnished the MLM network marketing industry unfairly.

MLM and network marketing companies such as Amway, Meleleuca, and Prepaid Legal have provided billions of dollars in products and services to millions of satisfied customers while providing great incomes for individuals who worked with those companies. So, MLM and network marketing companies have provided an abundance of wealth to the American economy.

As a business model, MLM and network marketing work. Potential return on investment is usually very high. That is what attracts many people to MLM network Marketing. Unfortunately, most of the people who are attracted have no business experience. They know nothing about sales and marketing and have very few of the skills necessary to run a successful business. They expect whatever opportunity they buy into will provide everything they need to be successful. Unfortunately this is not the case.

Newbies to MLM network marketing are frequently misled by sponsors who either don't know or willingly deceive potential recruits. The newbies are often sold on the idea that company will supply everything you need to be successful. Once on board, they discover that there is little to no support for them from the company. Most often their sponsor is so busy recruiting others that he has no time for them. As a result, they fail and tell everyone they know that MLM network marketing is a looser.

Another major problem with MLM is people who are so hell bent and determined that their opportunity is for everyone on the planet. They go after new recruits as if their life depended on it. The over sell the opportunity using inaccurate or even deceptive descriptions either unintentionally or out of ignorance. So, they're doing a tremendous injustice to the people they are approaching.

A number of network marketers do not fall into this category. However, there are enough who do to give the industry a bad rep.

After reviewing the facts, there is probably no real answer to the question. Your perspective is probably the only thing that will decide. "Is MLM Network Marketing a god send or an evil program designed to suck the life out of you?"

If you realize that you are investing your time and money in a new business, and you realize that you need all those skills of business management, sales, marketing, and personnel management to succeed, then you will probably find a place in the MLM network marketplace where you can succeed. It will take perseverance and determination but you can succeed.

MLM network marketing has a bright future.
