So you think you want to be an internet marketer and rake in huge sums of money from your activity!

Seems simple right? Set up a few websites selling popular items and just sit back and watch the profits roll in, right? Sounds so easy that anyone could do it right? WRONG!

"Opportunities" are abundant in the marketplace. From the $29 opportunity to about $250, opportunities of every type are offered. The sales pitch makes it sound foolproof. Just buy our product or service, plug in your name and you're on your way to riches you never dreamed possible. The reason you never dreamed that riches were that easy is because they are not. Once you make your purchase, you usually find out the product doesn't deliver what was promised. You usually have to invest more money to make it work.

A very high percentage of people who buy these opportunities never make a penny. In addition, they never ask for a refund based on the "money back guarantee" because its such a hassle and not worth the modest amount of money. For this reason, the scammers continue to offer their products unfettered.

Starting a new business requires a basic set of business skills. Whether opening an internet business or a brick and mortar business, the skill set is no different. An internet business generally requires far less capital than a brick and mortar business. Whichever you choose you should remember that good business practice will be required to succeed.

Selecting a product that the market wants to buy can be challenging. Offering that product at a competitive price can be even more challenging. Once you satisfy those requirements, you have to figure out how you're going to get traffic to your location.

Selecting what you want to sell is pretty easy since there are many resources available for identifying the hot commodity of the day. Once you decide what you're going to sell you have to decide on whether to open a brick and mortar store or an internet store.

If you decide on an internet store, you have a few choices. You could set up a store on e-bay or you could just set up a website. In either case, you are going to have to drive traffic to your site in order to make sales.

Getting traffic to your store is the marketing part of internet marketing. Since most people don't want to be "pitched" old advertising techniques just don't work as well as they used to. Attraction marketing is a new technique that works much better.

Offering something of value for free is an attraction marketing technique. Provide value for free on a continuing basis and you will build a loyal following. Once you gain the trust of visitors, it is much easier to present a product or service for sale.

This approach is gaining in popularity among internet marketers and has proven successful for those who have implemented it.

One company that offers education and training in using these advanced techniques is My Lead System Pro.

Doug
